Database

Postgres 17, extensions, direct connections and the PgBouncer pooler, auto-generated APIs.

Every project is a dedicated PostgreSQL 17 database. You have full owner access to the public schema and can connect with any SQL client.

Connection parameters

ModeHostPortUse for
Direct (TLS, sslmode=require)db-<ref>.host.ulewicz.space5432Migrations, long-lived connections, servers
PgBouncer pooler (transaction mode, TLS) — add-ondb-<ref>.host.ulewicz.space6543Serverless, edge, many short connections
# direct connection — TLS is required (routing is by SNI)
psql "postgresql://postgres:YOUR_PASSWORD@db-abcdefghijklmnopqrst.host.ulewicz.space:5432/postgres?sslmode=require"

# through the pooler (enable the add-on first: Integrations → Connection pooler)
psql "postgresql://postgres:YOUR_PASSWORD@db-abcdefghijklmnopqrst.host.ulewicz.space:6543/postgres?sslmode=require"

Auto-generated REST API

Every table and view in the public schema is automatically available over REST (PostgREST) at https://<ref>.host.ulewicz.space/rest/v1/.

curl "https://abcdefghijklmnopqrst.host.ulewicz.space/rest/v1/todos?select=*&done=eq.false" \
  -H "apikey: $ANON_KEY" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ANON_KEY"

RPC functions

create or replace function public.count_open_todos()
returns bigint language sql stable as $$
  select count(*) from todos where done = false;
$$;
const { data } = await supabase.rpc("count_open_todos");

Extensions

More than 50 extensions are available, including pgvector, postgis, pg_cron, pg_trgm, pgcrypto, uuid-ossp, pg_stat_statements, pg_net, pgmq, wrappers and supabase_vault.

create extension if not exists pg_trgm;

Dashboard tools

  • Table editor — browse, sort and filter data, edit cells inline, insert and delete rows, import/export CSV, create tables (with RLS on by default).
  • SQL editor — tabs, saved queries, history, results grid, EXPLAIN visualizer, chart builder (Ctrl/⌘+Enter).
  • Database module — schema visualizer (ERD), tables, functions, triggers, enums, extensions, indexes, publications, RLS policies, roles, Postgres settings, migrations, webhooks, cron jobs, pipelines, backups and PITR.
  • Query performance — slowest and most frequent queries from pg_stat_statements, plus currently running queries.
  • Advisors — automatic security and performance checks with ready-to-run fix SQL.

Changes to Postgres settings can be made by an owner or admin; parameters that require a restart (e.g. max_connections) are marked and restart the database for a few seconds.

Size limits

Free includes a 500 MB database, Pro 8 GB and Team 64 GB. At 80% of the limit the dashboard sends a warning with an upgrade suggestion.
